Venture to Roan Mountain, NC/TN
June 17 and 18, 2009

Two days, two entirely different environments.  The 17th met us with heavy mist - enough to require rain gear for most all of the morning on Round Bald.  The group persevered and enjoyed the other worldly beauty of Catawba and Flame Azaleas in the mist.

The 18th was much sunnier with the long range vistas for which the balds are noted.  Neither day due to mist and wind respectively provided for much in the way of birds, but as usual everyone had a good time. Looking forward to seeing you on Roan in 2010 Scott Dean
