"Hummingbirds, Antpittas and Tanagers and much, much more"
August 2 - 12, 2013
Our 11-day hummingbird special tour takes us across the Andes from the west slope and Choco endemic hummingbirds such as Velvet-purple Coronet and Empress Brilliant to the east slope endemic hummingbirds such as Rufous-vented Whitetip and Black-throated Brilliant. We also hope to see one of the most endangered and range-restricted hummingbirds, including the Black-breasted Puffleg on Volcan Pichincha. With over 135 species of hummingbirds and feeders at most ecolodges, Ecuador is an ideal hummingbird-watching destination.
"The Best of the West Indies"
November 16-25, 2013
Trinidad and Tobago is THE place for a first time exposure to birding the New World Tropics. Members of almost all of the South American bird families are found here and unlike in many of their mainland haunts, the birds of T & T are easy to photograph and seem to have little fear of people. It is often said that a first timer to the islands will add thirty species to their life list before breakfast. With over 430 species, a warm West Indian climate, excellent food and rich island culture, these twin islands are a perfect nature destination.
