15 Day Rome - Tampa Transatlantic Cruise

November 1-16, 2026

Simon is the naturalist aboard this 16 day Carnival Cruise Lines cruise aboard the Carnival Legend that starts in Rome, Italy and ends in Tampa, Florida. He will be doing several on-board programs, as well as looking for seabirds and sea mammals as we sail along through the Mediterranean and across the Atlantic.

Leader: Simon Thompson

Seawatching from the deck

This cruise leaves Rome around 6 PM on Day 1 and sails west on the way to Spain. We will look for seabirds and sea mammals along the way and may even find a stray land bird if it lands on the boat. The Carnival Legend docks at Cartagena, Malaga, and Gibraltar where you can spend time exploring the cities and historical sights, You can take advantage of the cruise ship’s excursions or simply do your own thing. Simon may be doing some land birding, so if you’re interested, talk to him ahead of time. The ship sails onto Bermuda and docks in Tampa with more chances for seabirds along the way.
