Susan Campbell

Susan has been living in North Carolina and working with birds for over three decades. In addition to being an avid birder, she is a researcher, educator and conservationist with a passion for hummingbirds. Bird related travel has taken her all over the United States as well as two dozen countries. In addition to exploring the bird life where ever she goes, Susan enjoys getting to know new cultures, sampling local food and admiring the scenery.

Susan has been leading groups in the out of doors since she was a teenage camp counselor in the backwoods of Maine. As naturalist for North Carolina State Parks, and a refuge volunteer for the US Fish & Wildlife Service she has spent countless hours with groups exploring the avifauna of the Old North State. Some of her favorite places include the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge and the Sandhills Game Lands.

Susan is very excited to join the Ventures family of guides!
