Uganda is small and bird-rich and 2 weeks in the country should produce a birdlist of over 400 species, plus a large selection of African mammals, including the wonderful Mountain Gorilla. Our trek to see this close relative is bound to be one of the highlights of the tour.

Other highlights should include a Shoebill encounter in Mabamba Swamp where we will take a boat trip to seek out the elusive and prehistoric-looking Shoebill, capturing a rare sighting of this iconic bird species. We will bird the Budongo Royal Mile, traversing the forest trails, looking for East Congo basin birds. Exploring the Mystical Semuliki Forest we will again look for East Congo Basin birds. During our Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi we will stand face-to-face with these gentle giants and create cherished memories in the presence of these magnificent creatures. Birding Ruhija’s renowned Mubwindi Swamp will hopefully get us many Albertine Rift-Rwenzori endemics, while Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale we will witness the playful antics and complex social dynamics of chimpanzees as we venture deep into the lush forests
