This awesome tour includes the premier birding route in central Peru that offers high-Andean endemics and cloud forest specialties, focusing on Bosque Unchog (Polylepis/elfin forest) for the Golden-backed Mountain-Tanager and Pardusco, and the Carpish Tunnel/Paty Trail for montane species such as the Yellow-scarfed Tanager, Leymebamba Antpitta and the elusive Masked Fruiteater. We then traverse the Andes to Lake Junín that holds the endemic Junin Grebe and Junin Rail, while Bosque Shollet provides cloud forest birds and the Santa Eulalia Valley hosts arid-scrub species like the Great Inca-Finch.
Cost $4100 per person from Lima, Peru, $600 single supplement. This trip includes all transportation including domestic flights, all admission fees, information packet & bird checklist, and services of one Ventures tour leader and one local guide, all accommodations, and three meals per day (breakfast, lunch/ picnic or box lunch depending upon where we are, and dinner, and snacks and water).
Not included: Alcoholic beverages, gratuities, laundry, and items of a personal nature.
