Lake Julian Walk: Aug. 30, 2025
Brown-headed Nuthatch by Alan Lenk
Hello Fellow Birders!
We had a great time at Lake Julian yesterday, although the pontoon boat rides have been temporarily suspended. We simply extended our time within the park and enjoyed the more common birds. There were not a lot of fall migrants, although at this time of year this changes from day to day. Our best bird was the Osprey that we saw from across the lake near the Osprey nest location. Several Brown-headed Nuthatches also gave us a show. Surprisingly, the local Bald Eagle was not to be seen. Maybe he's moved on for the season.
See you next month
