Mondays with Mike Kickoff, 9/8/25

We kicked off the Jackson Park “Mondays with Mike” (Resch) series with an excellent morning of birding featuring 55 species, including 13 warbler species. There was quite a bit of movement from 7 to 8 o’clock, with a slow but steady flow of migrants later in the morning.  Best warblers were a Blue-winged, and a singing Canada.  Best non-warbler was a flyover Great Egret.  And it was a great morning for flycatchers, with at least 20 Pewees and 2 Leasts.  The eBird checklist can be found here: ebird.org/checklist/S272258044
